Local Green Spaces Consultation to 31st March 2025
WHICH ARE YOUR FAVOURITE GREEN SPACES? As we continue to work on the Neighbourhood Plan, we have the opportunity to identify Local Green Spaces that are valued by the community and should be given a degree of protection as a result. A list of potential Local Green Spaces was identified several years ago and is now being reviewed:
Jubilee Gardens
Land at North Hall
Nursery Green
Loxwood Sports Association
Land South of Farm Close.
The criteria set out in the National Planning Policy Framework are that the space should be:
(a) in reasonably close proximity to the community it serves;
(b) demonstrably special to a local community and holds a particular local significance, for example because of its beauty, historic significance, recreational value (including as a playing field), tranquillity or richness of its wildlife; and
(c) local in character and is not an extensive tract of land.
Do these sites meet those criteria? Please let us know by 31st March 2025.
Are there other green spaces that you would like to see protected and which meet the criteria? Please let us know your thoughts by contacting the Clerk. [email protected]

The Revised 2019 Neighbourhood Plan submission plan has now been abandoned although much detail from this plan will be carried forward into a fresh start revised Neighbourhood Plan 2024.
The Revised Neighbourhood Plan submitted to Chichester District Council in December 2020 has never been progressed to Regulation 16 Consultation and then Examination. This hold up was due to the lack of progression of the Local Plan and the finalisation of policies in the Local Plan with which the Neighbourhood Plan has to be in sync. The Parish Council are now looking into starting up a new revision of the Neighbourhood Plan as the Local Plan is expected to commence Examination early in the new year 2024. The Parish Council are interviewing Planning Consultants for this purpose. Further updates will follow shortly. December 2023.
The Revised Loxwood Neighbourhood Plan was submitted to Chichester District Council on 8th December 2020.
