In order to submit an application for a 40mph buffer at Vicarage Hill to include the junctions of Plaistow Road and Skiff Lane the Parish Council needs comments from residents.

With regard to the prosed speed limit reduction on Vicarage Hill, Loxwood, I offer the following comments:-
Having lived on Vicarage Hill (opposite the Plaistow Road junction) for some 2 years, we have become increasingly concerned with the excessive speed and acceration of vehicles coming out of, and approaching Loxwood village.
There have been regular accidents at the Plaistow Road junction, which have required, on occasion, all three emegency services to attend.
It does seem that this de-restricted speed limit area, offers cart-blanche for unnecessary speeding/acceleration upto and from Brewhurst Lane, which in turn renders the Plaistow Road and Skiff Lane junctions as areas for potential, and actual, serious accidents.

A 40mph speed limit can only help improve the road safety of the area, whilst reducing the pressure on our hard-pressed emergency services.

I am writing in support of the reduction of the speed limit from 60mph to 40mph on Vicarage Hill.
We have lived on Vicarage Hill for 21 years and watched the volume of traffic increase over that time. Cars see the end of speed limit sign at the bottom of the hill, see the straight road up the hill and put their foot down. The most concentrated times are early morning, late afternoon and weekends when children are walking to school or up to the sports ground on Plaistow Rd.
The impact of the recent Alfold road calming speed restrictions have been very positive for the whole village. We would very much like to see the same outcome for Loxwood village.
